Our Team
Kim, Registered Nurse
Kim is loved for her positive spirit and kind manner and respected for her clinical and organizational skills. She is a perfectionist in her work and loves to learn new things. She is one of the constants in your care at our practice and her easy manner will put you at ease as you recover. With over 40 years of nursing experience, including a background in cardiology, emergency services, and preoperative nursing, she has been in plastic surgery working with Dr. Owens since 2016.
Kim was born and raised in Baltimore and loves Sunday family dinners with her husband of 43 years, Keith, and their 3 children and 8 grandchildren. She is an avid football fan and has had some great travels to the islands with family and lifelong friends. Her enthusiasm for living life to the fullest and commitment to giving every job her absolute best comes through in everything she does. We are lucky to have her!
Nicole, Administrative Assistant and Surgery Scheduler
Nicole has been working in the medical industry for over 10 years and is here to make your scheduling experience as easy as possible. Her warm personality shines through in all she does. From the initial phone call to scheduling your consultation, through surgical scheduling and navigating post op visit needs, you will find that Nicole works hard to be your advocate.
Nicole is originally from New Jersey and has lived in Maryland since 2007. She enjoys spending time with her husband & 2 children, traveling, and having weekend brunches with her beloved personal circle. She is a fresh counterpart to the office, but she makes sure she does her part to help to keep the office running smoothly.
Sue, Front Desk Receptionist
Sue joined the Avalon team in February 2021 from Florida, where she worked as a Medical Assistant for 15 years on Sanibel Island. Sue can be found at our front desk and managing the phones, working hard to accommodate everyone’s schedule and expertly making your scheduling experience as easy as possible. Sue’s superpower is creating time where it doesn’t seem to exist and whittling down the cancellation list with constant active management to best serve our patients. She is the party planner of the group and is responsible for creating many of the events that we host at the practice. You may also see Sue in the back helping Dr. Owens when her nurse, Kim, is away.
When Sue is not at Avalon she is traveling, visiting her granddaughter in Nashville or her other daughter and family in Michigan. She also enjoys running and staying as active as she possibly can. Sue and her husband enjoy exploring the area and finding great restaurants.
